My family is my world; they contribute daily to the quality of my life. The Woodsmen and I married in April 1973, we were very young. Grandma Spicy will say that she was very lucky in the husband lottery. We grew up together, learning about life and working hard to make a safe and nurturing home for our family. We provided unconditional love to our girls. When asked now how my family is; I reply simply "They are all taxpayers,Christians and doing good"! What more could a parent want in this culture, society and economy.
Our oldest was born in July 1974; I will call her CraftyT. She was the analytical one of the girls. She also is very artistic and uses her skills in many different ways. She inherited my ability to organize. Then in September 1977, the Lord blessed us with a second daughter; which I have named LittleT. She was more of a daredevil or gambler. Her claim to fame is cleaning; paying homage to her Dutch heritage she will clean any and everything that holds still. Her adolescent years she was a gym rat, playing competitive traveling basketball.
Since I had children of the same sex, I thought they would be exactly the same. As toddlers, if they were both faced with a playground slide; LittleT would scamper as fast as she could up the ladder and fly down the slide without a care. CraftyT would analyze first to see if it was safe to use the steps; when at the top of the slide she might decide that it was not prudent to slide down. The girls are very close and both live within one quarter mile from our house in their respective homes.
LittleT got married first to her high school sweetheart in 1998; I have named him TallDaddy. TallDaddy is 6' 8" and is a very gentle giant. Their only child, my only grandchild; I call Grand was born in 2000. She is my pride and joy. LittleT and TallDaddy are very good parents, I am impressed with their skills on discipline and other matters that face parent's in today's culture. The family has a Boston Terrier that I call my GrandDog, his name is Rosco P. Coletrain.
CraftyT got married in 2003 to the love of her life; I will call him BigDaddy. This couple lives very close to our house; within walking distance. They have two little dogies, my other GrandDogs. Duke was their first born, a four pound Fox Terrier that thinks he is a Pit Bull. Then Daisy came along; a twelve pound Smooth Fox Terrier that thinks she is a necklace. Every time that I go to her Mama's house, she is laying on the upper part of the recliner around the back of her neck. My Granddogs enjoy the use of a doggie door, their side yard is visible from my drive. All I can say is these doggies have personality!
So that is what makes up my happy little family! I am very blessed.
