I am just a young retired Grandma who lives in Missouri . Naming myself Grandma Spicy because I love the use of spices when cooking and I like to spice up my decorating with the use of beautiful colors. When sewing many projects for decorating and personal gifts; this is a a passion that feeds a need to touch and create with fabric. Reading consumes me, while I read varied types of books. My love of hummingbirds know's no bounds, I look forward to their arrival in April and dread their departure in October. I am very patriotic and believe in God and Country, in that order. My family means everythng to me. My husband, two adult daughters, their husbands and my one and only granddaughter make my heart soar!
My favorite verse is my mantra for life: Galatians 5:22-23 NIV 22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” If everyone put these things in their heart the world would be better! Every day, all I want for my family and I is love, joy, peace. forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These words are so important, they are worth repeating!
Grandma Spicy has always wanted to blog. Feeling as a "seasoned" person, I have something to share. But I find when I read other blogs, I learn things from youngins` as well!. Now the way I am speaking might lead you to believe that I am a hillbilly, just know I wear that moniker proudly. I live in the Ozark hills, a person that lives in the hills or on a farm is most usually very resourceful. That is not to be confused with a city-dweller who is also resourceful, but in a different way. We have wide open spaces to try different things such as gardens, using a wringer washer, making soap, gathering nuts, picking berries, foraging for wild edibles and hunting. We live a slower pace of life; hoping to smell the roses.
Looking forward to sharing my every day musings in this blog. You can look forward to varied subjects because I believe life is not just a single linear thread. I believe life is about sharing, caring and leaving a legacy. I will try to keep things organized as that is another passion in my life. This Grandma encourages comments; that is how I can grow too!
